Andre R. Whittle is a Saugerties, New York based writer creating stories rooted in the Hudson Valley and surrounding areas. His work is inspired by real places, local wildlife, history, and the communities that make the region unique.

He writes children’s books, teen, and adult fiction, and stories that connect imagination to real-world inspiration, including the Esopus Seal, a story inspired by a real harbor seal spotted in an upstate creek. He is also the creator of Sage Town and The Scary Me universe.

His creative direction began after a trip to Maine, where visiting Stephen King’s literary world sparked what he describes as a “positive jealousy” - a motivation to build something rooted in his own environment. Today, his stories blend local atmosphere, folklore, mystery, and character driven adventures inspired by the people and places of Upstate New York.
